What Ammo For Glock 19 - Hi guys looking forward to more info.. I have a brand new Glock 19 gen 5 otherwise stock with a top trigger installed. I've gone through 1-2,000 rounds with no problem, but in the last 500 I've had 3-4 failures to get a full battery; It's only about 1mm round to seat right. It is difficult to get the slide back when this happens, but eventually it can be pulled out and each time there is a dot mark on the very proximal part of the copper jacket that is about 1/3 of the bullet's circumference. Once I even saw the beard of a small copper coat falling off. It sounds like something is "squeezing" the round in the chamber, preventing it from fully seating. All 1000 round packs are in the same batch of Blazer Brass 115gr. I'm hoping that the blame this ammo is gone somehow, but it's happened enough I'm hesitant to rely on it for defensive purposes right now. Has anyone else experienced this or have any ideas other than bad ammo? I'll upload a picture of the tour. Thanks!
Forgot to mention some details; Has occurred on seemingly random rounds in the middle of a line of fire and even after setting the mag on the first round and releasing the slide. I used Glock magazines with a Tara +5 baseplate. Cleaned the gun thoroughly at the range and between rounds. I didn't notice any damage or anything unusual. When it does, it's always scoring a lap at 6. I think it is!
What Ammo For Glock 19
Put your OEM magazine back into the gun along with the OEM baseplate. And stop using Blazer ammo. See if you have any problems after that.
Was Told To Post My Hornady American Gunner Hps On Here, Third Cartridge To Do This When Unchambering A Round From My Glock 19, What's Going On?
It looks like a mark that could have been from the metal lip at the front of the magazine. If so, the round may dive into the lip and then push it into the chamber, slowing the slide enough to prevent it from entering the battery. Best guess is a weak mage or bond follower. Perhaps the TT baseplate is a factor.
Thanks, remove the Extended Base Plate for now and see how it goes. I've never had a problem with a blazer because only ammo. I'd start with the mags and see if that clears it up and then switch ammo.
While I'm pretty sure the mark is coming from the chamber, when the round jams (not just the slide losing energy), it compresses and jams in the chamber (requires a bit of fiddling to get the slide back in), chips I have seen rounds falling out of the chamber when fired.
I initially voted for bad ammo. The best answer is post #2. I have no experience with the Taran Tactical extension and the +5 version with the high cap on the Glock looks extreme. Mags are already available (assuming unmodified-stock-Glock-mags are more reliable).

I suspect this is one of the causes of your problems.

I understand most ammo manufactures are copper plated so please correct me if there is a better option? Anyway, I expect glock19 can eat anything. use that ammo in all my other handguns with no problem

I had the occasional feeding failure, but I ate it like candy. I think it's just weak ammo.

I haven't, I just saw it today while browsing the forums trying it out, almost wondering if it could be a random round case that doesn't sit far enough into the case. I know there are answers so you don't have to answer if you don't feel like it but how do you test correctly / what exactly are you looking for. Thanks

Take the barrel out of the gun.
Put ammo in the barrel if it spins and pushes through freely... no problem if it is tight or spins you have no problem... no sound. Congratulations.
Glock 44 Ammo Test
Hey guys just an update. I switched back to factory mags, just in case it made a difference. Another failure occurred with the battery being full after 1 shot. The copper jacket again had a 1/4 circumference. Same batch of brass. I had some Remington ammo and compared the two sides the Blazer brass was too high and the bullet was looking almost a bit crooked in the case. I'm sure that's the problem it's either a bad batch or the Blazer just runs "high" and it pinches every now and then because of the gen 5's small chamber. I tested a bunch and didn't see the problem, but it happens again every couple hundred rounds. I change ammo and move on. Thanks everyone for your input!
I would run factory Glock stock magazines. Use the stock G17 mag for more rounds. If 17 plus one isn't enough, you need a better neighborhood.
4/ You grip the weapon so loosely that the required recoil and slide motion is not available to eject and eject and load a new cartridge.

Thanks for your feedback. I went back to the factory to continue diagnosing the fault, still happened. I can assure you it won't last, this is a particular problem with ammo after eating at 6 o'clock.
